DESCRIPTION:The City of Red Deer is exploring a new way to govern our Electric Utility one that could offer more flexibility\, innovation\, and long-term sustainability for our community and businesses.\n\n \n\nCity Council has directed The City to explore creating a Municipally Controlled Corporation (MCC) a company fully owned by The City that would manage the delivery of electricity in Red Deer. This model maintains public ownership but allows for a more business-like approach to operations\, better supporting growth\, reliability and sustainability.\n\n \n\nBefore City Council makes a decision\, a Public Hearing will be held on June 23\, 2025.
