Chamber Blog: Help Shape the Future of Work in Central Alberta
The way we work is changing quickly. Across Central Alberta, businesses are navigating workforce shortages, evolving skill needs, new technologies, and changing employee expectations — often all at the same time.
Employers are adapting in real time to a business landscape that looks very different than it did even a few years ago. That’s why the Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce is proud to be partnering with Central Alberta First and Red Deer Polytechnic on the Future of Work project — an important regional initiative designed to better understand the challenges, opportunities, and workforce realities businesses are facing today.
This project was developed in response to what we heard directly from businesses through the BREWD initiative and ongoing conversations across our region. Supported through funding from the Government of Alberta through a Labour Market Partnership grant, as well as the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), this work will help create stronger data and deeper insight into the future of work in Central Alberta.
The survey will help identify workforce, technology, growth, and transition challenges facing businesses across the region and inform future supports and initiatives. The information gathered will help shape future conversations, partnerships, workforce planning efforts, and regional strategies. Most importantly — this research depends on participation from businesses and organizations across Central Alberta. Your perspective matters. Whether your organization is experiencing labour shortages, navigating growth, adopting new technologies, rethinking recruitment and retention, or simply trying to plan for the future, your experiences are important to understanding the realities facing our region.
The stronger the participation, the stronger and more meaningful the data will be for businesses, communities, educators, and decision-makers across Central Alberta.
We encourage businesses and organizations from all sectors and sizes to participate.
