Public Statement from the CEO of the Red Deer District Chamber on the 2025 Federal Election Results

As we reflect on the results of the yesterday’s election, the Red Deer District Chamber extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mark Carney on his election as Canada’s Prime Minister, as well as our newly elected Member of Parliament, Mr. Burton Bailey. We recognize the hard work and dedication of all candidates, and we are grateful for their commitment to our community.
 
The Red Deer District Chamber remains a non-partisan organization whose primary focus is on the economic vitality of Red Deer and Central Alberta, and we are committed to working with all elected officials - regardless of political affiliation - to ensure that our region continues to thrive. In our interactions with the candidates leading up to the election, we sought clarity on several key issues that impact our local business community, including policies related to the energy industry, resource and infrastructure development, tax reform that encourages business investment and job creation, national debt reduction, transportation and trade infrastructure, economic development and ensuring policy makers are ensuring a stronger voice from the business community at the federal decision-making table. These are issues that directly affect the growth and sustainability of businesses in Red Deer and the surrounding area, and we will continue to advocate for policies that address these priorities.
 
The Red Deer District Chamber remains focused on promoting policies that align with the needs and aspirations of our local businesses. We will continue to push for a clear, collaborative approach to ensuring economic opportunities are accessible for all, while addressing the challenges that businesses face in our region. As we look ahead, the Red Deer District Chamber is eager to collaborate with our colleagues at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in support of federal policies that federal policies that foster an environment of innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation in Central Alberta.
