Employment Mentorship Coordinator

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! 

We are looking for a dynamic, engaging, and self-starting Employment Mentorship Coordinator who will support newcomer integration by building strong mentorship and networking opportunities, while fostering relationships with employers and community stakeholders across Central Alberta. 
The position is permanent on a part-time basis (14 hrs./week). 

 

A little about what you bring: 

  • Experience in program coordination, community engagement, or workforce development 

  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills with the ability to engage employers, businesses, and community partners 

  • Post-secondary education in human resources, business administration, social sciences, adult education, community development, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience 

  • Experience facilitating workshops, presentations, or group sessions 

  • Knowledge of or experience supporting newcomers to Canada and understanding employment barriers 

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate events 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking and facilitation 

  • Ability to analyze trends and adapt programming to meet emerging needs 

 

A little about what you’ll do: 

  • Develop, organize, and facilitate mentorship opportunities and networking sessions that connect newcomer mentees with mentors across various industries 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employer partners, businesses, business associations, and workforce stakeholders to support successful mentorship experiences 

  • Deliver intercultural training workshops and presentations that highlight the value of mentorship in bridging cultural and workplace gaps, promoting diversity, and supporting meaningful employment outcomes 

  • Promote the mentorship program to clients, volunteers, employers, and community stakeholders 

  • Identify opportunities for program growth by researching newcomer employment trends and adapting programming to address emerging needs 

  • Facilitate and manage participation in the Connector Program by engaging local businesses, organizations, and community leaders 

  • Coordinate and support one-on-one networking meetings between Connectors and Connectees, helping individuals grow their professional networks and explore career opportunities 

  • Ensure accurate program administration, including reports and proposals that align with contribution agreements and accountability requirements
